I’m 31 and have been struggling with alcohol for 5 years now. I’m worried about my time off from work so I’m curious how long inpatient alcohol treatment/rehab would take? Would I be able to work during inpatient rehab? Any help is appreciated. I’m in the Los Angeles area.

Hey, great question and props to you for being open about your recovery journey. That’s a huge step, and it’s awesome you’re looking into treatment options in Los Angeles.
When it comes to alcohol rehab, the length of stay can vary depending on the rehab center, your individual needs, and the level of care you choose. Most inpatient rehab programs for alcohol addiction are around 30, 60, or 90 days. A 30-day alcohol rehab program is a good starting point if you’re looking for a focused treatment that includes detox, therapy, and relapse prevention. Longer stays, like 60 or 90 day programs, provide more time to work through deeper issues and build long-term recovery habits.
If you’re concerned about missing work, you might also consider outpatient rehab programs in Los Angeles. Outpatient rehab or partial hospitalization programs let you live at home and sometimes continue working while attending treatment sessions several days a week. It’s a flexible way to get professional help without putting your life completely on hold.
During inpatient rehab, it’s usually not possible to work since the programs are highly structured and focused on recovery 24/7. Most people find this helpful because it gives them the space to fully focus on getting healthy, away from stress and daily triggers.
If you’re in the Los Angeles area, there are many great rehab centers offering both inpatient and outpatient alcohol treatment options. The best way to decide is to call a few local rehab centers, explain your situation, and ask about their program length, insurance coverage, and flexibility.
You’re already doing the right thing by asking questions and exploring options. Whether you choose a 30-day alcohol rehab program or a longer stay, what matters most is finding a rehab center in Los Angeles that feels supportive, understanding, and right for you. Keep going, you’ve got this!!!!!!
