Any treatment programs in LA that actually get first responders?

I've been a paramedic for nine years and I'm finally looking into treatment for my drinking, but every place I've called treats me like a regular intake. Does anyone know of a program in LA that actually understands first responder culture and shift work, not just a generic 30 day program? I don't want to spend my first session explaining what a 24 on 48 off schedule even is.

I went through a program in LA two years ago that had a specific track for firefighters and paramedics, about six of us in the group at once. They got the shift work part immediately and built the schedule around it instead of making us adapt to a standard 9 to 5 treatment day. The intake coordinator had actually worked EMS before switching careers, which made the first conversation a lot easier than the two other places I called before that one. My drinking had gotten bad enough that I needed medical detox before anything else, and they had a nurse on site the whole time instead of just checking in once a day.

I can't point you to the exact same program since I'm a police officer, not EMS, but I found similar luck with a place that had a peer group specifically for law enforcement and fire department folks together. What mattered most to me was that nobody made me feel like I was overreacting about what I'd seen on the job, since a lot of general counselors just don't have context for that. If your drinking has gotten to a point where you're worried about stopping on your own, tell the intake team that directly so they can get a doctor involved in the detox part instead of trying to white knuckle it before you even arrive.
