What side effects did you get on Vivitrol and did they fade?

I just got my second Vivitrol shot last week and the injection site is still sore, way more than the first time. The first month I had nausea for a few days straight and felt unusually tired for almost a week after the shot. Did anyone else deal with symptoms like this, and do they eventually calm down, or is this just how it goes every month?

I've had five injections now and the pattern was pretty consistent for me. The first two shots gave me a hard, itchy lump at the injection site for close to two weeks, plus nausea and low appetite for the first four or five days after each one. By the third injection the site reaction was much milder and only lasted about four days, and the nausea barely showed up at all. My prescriber said that's typical, the body tends to adjust after a couple of doses, so if you're only on your second shot there's a decent chance it keeps easing off.

My experience was a bit different. The injection site soreness never fully went away for me, though it did get shorter each time, more like three or four days instead of a week. I also got joint aches in my knees after my third shot that nobody had warned me about, which was annoying but manageable with rest. I'd mention any joint pain to your provider if it shows up, just so they can rule out something else going on.
