What questions did you wish you asked before admitting?

Looking back at when I admitted myself two years ago, I basically signed whatever was in front of me because I just wanted to get started. Now that I've been through it once, there's a lot I wish I had asked ahead of time about staffing, daily structure, and what happens if I wanted to leave early. What questions do you wish you had asked before you walked through the door?

For me it was asking what their policy was if I wanted to leave against medical advice, because nobody tells you that upfront and it matters more than you think when things get hard around day three or four. I also wish I had asked how often the assigned counselor actually changes during a stay, since mine switched twice and it set me back emotionally each time. Bringing a written list of questions to the tour instead of trying to remember them on the spot made a real difference the second time.

I wish I had asked about the staff to patient ratio overnight, because that's when things felt the loneliest and slowest to get help. I also wish I had asked exactly what a typical day looks like hour by hour instead of accepting a vague brochure answer. The place I ended up at second time around walked me through an actual daily schedule during the tour and that alone told me they had nothing to hide.
